The dampness is a real plus, as it draws in more fur and encourages my cats to give themselves an extra wash. They love the feel of the bristles and get curious about the steam. For long-haired cats it's probably wise to have a few different brushes to hand, but I'm happy with the results. A fair amount of fur came off, which was definitely needed.
